Humble, Texas is a city situated at Harris County with a total region cover of approximately 10 square miles. It was in the early 1800s that the initially settlers began moving to this city. It is believed that Joseph Dunman was the initially person to arrive and settle here in 1828.

Just prior to the civil war, Pleasant Smith Humble came to the city and acquired land along the San Jacinto River. He operated a ferry on the river near the now U.S 59 crossing and later opened a post office in his property. This led to the name Humble been adopted for the city.
